Over 6.5 million adults over the age of 65 are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. This number does not include adults under the age of 65, with a different type of dementia, or those who are undiagnosed. By the year 2050, this estimation is expected to triple, mainly due to our population living longer. Now is the time for all Americans to prepare and educate themselves about the risk factors and ways to prevent the onset of this insidious disease.

Join Jennifer Reeder, Director of Educational and Social Services for the Alzheimer's Foundation of America for a review of the different types of dementia and risk factors associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Jennifer will also explore the warning signs, and what to do next when someone is showing signs or has received a diagnosis. Although problem-solving may become more difficult as the disease progresses along with all other executive functioning skills, those supporting must always provide opportunities for the individual to remain engaged in the decision-making process.
