FPS volunteer day at the Greater Boston Food Bank

On Tuesday, October 18th, 2022, the Financial Planning Solutions team participated in a community outreach day at the Greater Boston Food Bank.

As you may know, we have supported the Greater Boston Food Bank financially for several years.  

We had actually volunteered a couple of years ago to help onsite but due to COVID, things got postponed.

Through our volunteer day, the FPS team assisted with the organization and boxing of shelf-stable foods. Greater Boston Food Bank truck's deliver the packed boxes to commodity supplemental food program sites where volunteers add fresh produce. From here, the food is distributed to partner agencies which include local food pantries, soup kitchens and senior centers.

Through our efforts of our volunteer session, we're happy to report that we assisted with the sorting of 7,920 lbs of food, enough to provide the equivalent of 8,100 meals for families in need.
